The Artist
The Right-Left Brain.
Art has always been a defining thread in Laura’s life, woven together with a deep appreciation for technology and analytical thinking. While creativity fuels her artistic work, her background in graphic design, digital strategy, and problem-solving reflects a balance of artistic intuition and structured logic.

The Journey
Art has been a constant thread in Laura’s life from an early age. Her creative journey began in childhood and took shape when she attended a magnet school for the arts in middle school. That passion led her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, where she refined her skills in composition, color, and visual storytelling.
In 2013, she discovered encaustic painting—a mesmerizing and tactile medium that blends beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. The process involves layering and fusing wax with heat, using torches, hot plates, and an ever-growing collection of unconventional tools.
I’m drawn to the depth, texture, and luminous quality of encaustic work. There’s an element of unpredictability that keeps me engaged—it’s a conversation between me and the medium.
Education & Exhibitions
Laura’s encaustic journey has been enriched by studying under renowned encaustic artists in Italy, Maine, and Florida, as well as through various online workshops. These experiences have deepened her technical expertise and broadened her approach to the medium.
Her work has been featured in galleries across Florida and in international online shows, showcasing her exploration of texture, translucency, and storytelling through wax. She also enjoys demoing and instructing others on the wonders of Encaustic.

Studio & Inspiration
Based in Saint Johns, Florida, Laura finds inspiration in both the natural and built environments. Whether it’s the organic textures of the landscape or the structured energy of cityscapes, her work reflects a blend of both worlds. Her studio is a place of exploration—where wax, fire, and creativity come together in a process that is as unpredictable as it is intentional.
Some days, everything flows, and the wax moves exactly how I want. Other days, I have to wrestle with it—but that’s part of what keeps me coming back. The process is never the same twice, and that’s what makes it exciting.
Supported by her wonderful husband and stepson, she continues to evolve her artistic practice, always seeking new ways to explore and express through encaustic.
